2017 Merit Awards

01 Jul 2017

Warrenstreet Architects Inc. was recently recognized by Plan New Hampshire at the 2017 Merit Awards Ceremony held at the Derryfield Country Club in Manchester. Two Awards for Excellence in Planning, Design and Development were received by Warrenstreet for their involvement in projects that have helped shape the built environment and foster development and creation of healthy and vibrant communities in the Granite State. Recognized projects included an Honorable Mention award for Building on Hope and the renovation of the Manchester Police Athletic League (MPAL) Michael Briggs Community Center in Manchester, NH and a Merit Award of Excellence for the River’s Edge Apartments Owned by the Laconia Area Community Land Trust of Laconia, NH.

Building on Hope is a community organization of volunteers who work with builders, architects and designers to provide physical improvements to facilities associated with non-profit service groups. Jonathan Halle is a co-founder and co-chair of Building on Hope and his contributions along with those of Warrenstreet Architects Inc., were instrumental in the organization, development and execution of this bi-annual build effort.

River’s Edge is a 41,000-square foot rehabilitation and reuse project in which a once abandoned former mill and warehouse was converted to a multifamily housing complex comprised of 32 apartment units located on Union Avenue in downtown Laconia. Warrenstreet Architects, Inc. was retained by the Laconia Area Community Land Trust (LACLT) in 2015 to provide construction administration services in conjunction with completion of the project following the untimely death of Architect of Record and designer, George B. Hickey of Sanbornton.
